The Hebrew Museum

The new Hebrew Museum and the Hebrew Learning Center and Gallery will be the Academy’s two largest endeavors focused on engaging and educating the broader community.  A new, first-of-its-kind museum will present the universal aspects of the Hebrew language through an audio-visual experience that will tell the story of the Hebrew language over its three thousand year history, and its amazing revival as a spoken language, and celebrate the vibrancy and vitality of modern Hebrew. The museum’s permanent exhibition will make use of state-of-the-art audio, visual and touch technology to offer visitors an exciting, multi-sensory educational experience.

Proposed activities of the Museum and Hebrew Learning Center and Gallery include museum visits, group tours, cultural events, continuing-education courses and conferences.

These new experiences will give voice to the central role of Hebrew in daily life and in Jewish, Hebrew and Israeli culture, based on the Academy’s historical, cultural and linguistic assets and its vast knowledge. The Center will attract members of the general public, tourists, school groups and educators alike.
